Commends and congratulates Mr. Chris Paige on his retirement from Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2 To commend and congratulate Mr. Chris Paige on his retirement from Natchitoches 3 Regional Medical Center. 4 WHEREAS, born on November 7, 1957, Chris Paige has exemplified dedication, 5 service, and excellence throughout his illustrious career and community involvement; and 6 WHEREAS, a proud graduate of Natchitoches Central High School in 1975, Chris 7 Paige attended Grambling State University and earned his certification in respiratory 8 therapy; and 9 WHEREAS, Chris Paige's commitment to healthcare began in 1980 when he 10 commenced his career in Emergency Medical Services at Natchitoches Parish Hospital and 11 subsequently serving as a Respiratory Therapist at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center 12 (NRMC) for an impressive 35 years, where he provided exemplary care to countless 13 patients; and 14 WHEREAS, as the first African American Respiratory Therapist at Natchitoches 15 Parish Hospital, Chris Paige broke barriers and set a standard of excellence in his field, 16 including his remarkable contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020-2021, where 17 he selflessly worked to save lives in the face of great personal risk; and 18 WHEREAS, over his 44-year tenure at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital/NRMC, Page 1 of 2 SCR NO. 62 SLS 24RS-3412 ORIGINAL 1 Chris Paige has earned the admiration and gratitude of his colleagues and patients, assisting 2 numerous cases of cardiopulmonary arrests and codes, and providing dedicated service to 3 COVID patients; and 4 WHEREAS, Chris Paige's contributions extend beyond his professional endeavors, 5 as he has been an active and engaged member of his community, serving as a Natchitoches 6 Parish Police Juror/Parish Councilman for thirty years, serving on the Board of Governors 7 of the Louisiana Civil Service League, as Commissioner of the Natchitoches Parish 911 8 Board, and as President of the Breda Town Cemetery Committee; and 9 WHEREAS, Chris Paige's commitment to his family, faith, and community is evident 10 through his marriage to Mary Katherine LaCour Paige; his children Aja, Jaharrah, Chris Jr., 11 and Matthew; his lifelong membership at First Baptist Church on North Street in 12 Natchitoches; and his service as a Natchitoches Parish Police Juror/Parish Councilman. 13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby 14 commend and congratulate Chris Paige on his retirement from the Natchitoches Regional 15 Medical Center. 16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Chris 17 Paige.
