Abstract: Changes order of disbursement of Geaux Teach scholarships relative to certain other
financial aid and awards.
Present law provides for the Geaux Teach Program, which awards scholarships to students in
approved teacher preparation programs at postsecondary education institutions.
Present law authorizes use of scholarships only after all other state or institutional financial aid and
awards are applied. Proposed law instead requires use of scholarships before all other state or
institutional financial aid and awards are applied.
