Abstract: Provides for the sale or consumption of high or low alcohol content beverages in
Washington Parish.
Present law provides for the statewide regulation of the sale of high and low alcoholic beverages.
Present law provides for the local option election by local political subdivisions relative to the sale
of alcoholic beverages.
Proposed law authorizes, subject to the statewide regulations but not subject to the local option
elections, the governing authorities of Washington Parish and any municipality within Washington
Parish to regulate but not prohibit the sale or consumption of high or low alcohol content beverages
in Washington Parish.
