PROPERTY/PUBLIC:  Authorizes the lease of certain state property in Jefferson Parish
1	AN ACT
2To authorize and provide for the lease of certain state property; to authorize the lease of
3 certain state property in Jefferson Parish; to provide for a property description; to
4 provide for the reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; to
5 provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  The commissioner of administration, notwithstanding any other provision
8of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to lease any interest, excluding
9mineral rights, the state may have to all or any portion of the following described property
10in Jefferson Parish to the Kenner Laketown Area Development Corporation:
11	A parcel of artificially elevated state owned water bottom located north of the
12	city of Kenner on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain in the area known as
13	Laketown, containing approximately 8 acres and being a portion the property
14	currently embraced within existing Office of State Lands Lease #1298.
15 Section 2.  The commissioner of administration is hereby authorized to enter into
16such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents as
17necessary to properly effectuate any lease, excluding mineral rights, with a term not to
18exceed ninety-nine years, to the property described in Section 1 of this Act, and as more
19specifically described in any such agreements entered into and documents executed by the
20commissioner of administration and the Kenner Laketown Area Development Corporation,
21in exchange for consideration proportionate to the appraised value of the property.
22 Section 3.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
23signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature

1by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If
2vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
3effective on the day following such approval.
