HB 205 Original	2025 Regular Session	McCormick
Abstract: Prohibits the commissioner of conservation from limiting the surface injection pressure
for saltwater disposal wells to less than 0.5 lbs. per foot in certain parishes.
Present law authorizes the commissioner of conservation to regulate disposal wells, including
saltwater disposal wells.
Proposed law prohibits the commissioner from limiting any saltwater disposal well in the parishes
of Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, Red River, and Webster to a surface injection pressure less
than 0.5 lbs. per vertical foot, measuring from the surface to the point of injection.
Proposed law authorizes saltwater disposal well operators with an existing permit that limits the
injection pressure they can use to less than 0.5 lbs. per foot to apply to the department to have their
permits modified to comply with proposed law.
