Abstract: Provides relative to the payment of insurance premium costs by the Franklin Parish
Sheriff's Office.
Present law provides that 100% of the premium costs of group hospital, surgical, and medical
expense insurance shall be paid from the sheriff's general fund for any sheriff or deputy sheriff who
has retired from the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office and who is eligible to receive benefits from the
Sheriff's Pension and Relief Fund.
Proposed law provides that 100% of the premium costs of group hospital, surgical, and medical
expense insurance shall be paid from the sheriff's general fund for any sheriff or deputy sheriff who
has been employed with or has earned creditable service from the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office
and who is eligible to receive benefits from the Sheriff's Pension and Relief Fund.
