[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 254 Original 2025 Regular Session Crews Abstract: Requires the publication of a list of energy utility providers that provide annual consumption reporting mechanisms. Proposed law creates the Energy Utility Reporting Transparency Act. Proposed law defines "annual consumption report", "commission", and "energy utility". Proposed law provides that the Public Service Commission (commission) shall annually publish a list on whether an energy utility offers property owners with multiple meters the option to request an annual consumption report at no additional cost. Proposed law provides that the commission shall publish and distribute the list required by proposed law. Proposed law provides that the commission shall publish the list required by proposed law by March 1 st of each year, covering the previous calendar year. Proposed law provides that energy utilities shall self-report to the commission annually, by January 15 th , whether they offer property owners with multiple meters the option to request an annual consumption report. Proposed law provides that the commission shall promulgate any rules and regulations necessary for the collection and publication of the information outlined in proposed law. Proposed law provides that proposed law shall not require energy utilities to provide an annual consumption report, but energy utilities shall disclose to the commission if they do or do not provide this service.
