Abstract: Provides relative to manufactured and modular housing in flood-prone areas.
Present law provides that in flood-prone areas, the foundation of manufactured and modular housing
shall comply with the requirements set forth in the manual, Manufactured Home Installation In Flood
Hazard Areas, published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Proposed law retains present law and adds that state and local government subdivisions shall not
enact requirements for stricter regulation of installation than the minimum standards adopted by
FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program, under 42 U.S.C. Section 4011 et seq.
Proposed law provides for the limitation of restrictive installation standards regarding Free Board.
Proposed law provides for what information shall be provided on permits issued.
