Abstract: Increases the threshold amount of a change order that must be approved by the Joint
Legislative Committee on the Budget
Present law requires the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget (JLCB) to approve a change
order that causes an excess in the aggregate amount of $100,000 per month for a project in the
Capital Outlay Act. Further requires JLCB to review any change order in excess of $50,000 but less
than $100,000.
Proposed law increases the threshold amount to $250,000 for those change orders requiring JLCB
approval. Also increases the threshold amount in excess of $50,000 but less than $250,000 for those
change orders requiring JLCB review.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
