Appropriates $330,000.00 out of the State General Fund (Direct) for FY 2024-2025 and allocates
it for payment of the following consent judgments against the state in the matter entitled William
Mangum, individually and as surviving father of Hayden Lane Mangum v. La. Dept. of Wildlife and
Fisheries et al. consolidated with Jackie Shaw Mangum v. State of La. Dept. of Transportation et al.,
bearing No. C-167,370-B consolidated with No. C-167,521, on the docket of the 26
th
 Judicial
District, parish of Bossier:
(1)$165,000.00 for the consent judgment against the state of Louisiana, through the Department
of Transportation and Development, and in favor of William Mangum, signed on May 29,
2024. 
(2) $165,000.00 for the consent judgment against the state of Louisiana, through the Department
of Transportation and Development, and in favor of Jackie Shaw Mangum, signed on May
24, 2024. 
Proposed law provides relative to payment. Provides relative to conflicts between the judgment and
proposed law. Prohibits accrual of interest on the judgment as of the effective date of proposed law.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
