HB 481 Original	2025 Regular Session	Phelps
Abstract:   Prohibits the issuance of permits for the sale of high or low alcoholic beverages within
the boundaries of District 3 of the La. House of Representatives from Aug. 1, 2025, through
Dec. 31, 2030.
Present law provides the issuance and regulation of various high and low alcoholic beverage permits.
Proposed law provides that beginning on Aug. 1, 2025, and ending on Dec. 31, 2030, no permits for
the sale of high or low alcoholic beverages issued under present law shall be granted within the
boundaries of District 3 of the La. House of Representatives.
Proposed law provides that valid existing permits may continue and be renewed if the permit holder
remains in compliance with all other provisions of law and local ordinances. 
Proposed law provides that if any such permit holder ceases to operate as a business or if any such
permit holder fails to maintain a valid permit for any reason and for any period of time, the permit
holder shall not be entitled to a new or renewal permit.
