FUELS/LIQ PETROLEUM GAS:  Increases the tanker truck registration fee applicable to
certain trucks transporting liquefied petroleum gas
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 40:1849(B), relative to permits for trucks carrying liquefied
3 petroleum gas; to increase the tanker truck registration fee; and to provide for related
4 matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 40:1849(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง1849.  Permit fees; minimum; maximum; transport registration fees; personnel
8	qualification fees; Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission Rainy Day
9	Dedicated Fund Account

11	B.  No tanker truck with a water capacity of one thousand gallons or more
12 shall be used to transport liquefied petroleum gas, including anhydrous ammonia, in
13 Louisiana until it has been registered with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission
14 and an annual registration fee of fifty up to one hundred fifty dollars for each vehicle
15 has been paid therefor to the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Commission.  Upon payment
16 of the fee, the commission shall issue a registration decal valid for the year of
17 issuance.  This registration decal shall be permanently affixed to the motor vehicle
18 in a prominent location as provided by the regulations which the commission shall
19 adopt.  No dealer shall deliver any liquefied petroleum gas from any transport motor
20 vehicle to which a current registration decal is not permanently affixed.

Abstract:  Increases the annual registration fee for permits for trucks carrying liquefied
petroleum gas.
Present law prohibits a tanker truck with a water capacity of 1,000 gallons or more from
transporting liquefied petroleum gas until it has been registered with the Liquefied
Petroleum Gas Commission and an annual registration fee of $50 has been paid.
Proposed law changes the annual registration fee in present law from $50 to up to $150.
