Abstract: Requires instruction in financial literacy to include financial aid for postsecondary
education.
Present law requires high school students to complete a one unit Financial Literacy course to be
eligible to graduate from a public high school, receive a diploma, and qualify for certain financial
aid.
Present law specifies minimum content components of the course. Proposed law requires financial
aid for postsecondary education as a component.
