Abstract:  Places a moratorium on activities and permitting related to carbon dioxide sequestration
to allow for the study of certain risks associated with this process.
Proposed law prohibits the following activity from the effective date of the proposed law until July
1, 2026:
(1)Geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide within the state.
(2)Transportation of carbon dioxide within the state for purposes of geologic sequestration.
(3)The issuance of permits, certificates, and orders related to activities (1) and (2).
Proposed law repeals the moratorium after its term has expired.
Effective in part upon signature of the governor; effective in part July 1, 2026.
