Abstract: Provides that salary increases authorized by the Judicial Compensation Commission for
Fiscal Year 2024 shall be funded by the judiciary.
Present law provides that increases in the salaries of the judges of the supreme court, courts of
appeal, and district courts shall be contingent upon approval prior to each July 1st by the La.
Supreme Court and the La. Judicial Budgetary Control Board. Further provides that any salary
increase authorized for 2020 shall be funded by the judiciary.
Proposed law retains present law and further provides that any salary increase authorized for 2024
shall be funded by the judiciary.
