HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2
BY REPRESENTATIVE CHASSION
LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS: Establishes the Freshmen Caucus in the Louisiana House of
Representatives
1 A RESOLUTION
2To recognize the distinct group of freshman members of the Louisiana House of
3 Representatives as the Freshmen Caucus of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
4 WHEREAS, the Louisiana House of Representatives recognizes the importance of
5fostering young leadership within the freshman class of legislators; and
6 WHEREAS, recognizing the freshman members of the Louisiana House of
7Representatives will provide a platform for these legislators to collaborate and exchange
8ideas.
9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
10Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize the distinct group of freshman members of
11the Louisiana House of Representatives as the Freshmen Caucus of the Louisiana House of
12Representatives.
13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the purposes of the Freshmen Caucus of the
14Louisiana House of Representatives shall include:
15 (1) Promoting the involvement and leadership development of freshman members
16in the legislative process.
17 (2) Facilitating networking, mentorship, and collaboration among freshman
18members.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED a House member shall be considered a member of
20the caucus for the duration of his first term in office.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
2speaker of the House of Representatives.
