COMMENDATIONS: Commends Bishop Tyrone G. Jefferson, Jr., on the occasion of his
thirtieth pastoral anniversary

2To commend Bishop Tyrone G. Jefferson, Jr., on the occasion of his thirtieth pastoral
3 anniversary.
4 WHEREAS, Bishop Tyrone G. Jefferson, Jr., is the founding senior pastor of
5Abundant Life Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana; he is a
6beloved figure in his hometown of New Orleans and throughout the Gulf Coast region, and
7he has long been recognized as a gifted preacher, teacher, and activist; and
8 WHEREAS, Bishop Jefferson has proudly served as the senior pastor of Abundant
9Life Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church for thirty years, and he is affectionately known
10as "Da Tab" in his community; each Sunday, he draws crowds of hundreds of believers to
11his church and delivers his powerful ministry through preaching and song; and
12 WHEREAS, Bishop Jefferson is an incredibly civic-minded individual who serves
13with governmental and nonprofit entities throughout Louisiana; he is the chaplain for the
14Louisiana State Police and a spiritual advisor to numerous local officials; he is a member of
15the Maroon Board and the Lake Forest Charter Board, and he serves as the chairman of
16Versatile Entertainment; and
17 WHEREAS, Bishop Jefferson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in the Lord's
18Church under the auspices of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, and
19he now serves as the Bishop of Emerging Churches and Fellowship Assistance; and

1 WHEREAS, Bishop Jefferson was nominated for the DOVE Award, interviewed by
2the New York Times in October 2022, and featured on the cover of Gospel Update National
3Magazine and recognized for his outstanding work in the community and abroad; and
4 WHEREAS, Bishop Jefferson continues to employ a modern approach to ministering
5the Gospel; his youthful energy enables him to impact believers of all age groups, and he
6encourages the members of his congregation to be steadfast, unmovable, and always
7abounding in the Word of God; he hosts a virtual church to provide the homebound with an
8opportunity to experience his gospel ministry; and
9 WHEREAS, Bishop Tyrone G. Jefferson, Jr., consistently preaches a relevant and
10balanced spiritual message whether he is ministering the Gospel through song or by
11preaching from the pulpit; his thirtieth pastoral anniversary was observed on April 6, 2025;
12he is truly deserving of the highest recognition for his incredible career in ministry.
13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
14Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Bishop Tyrone G. Jefferson, Jr., on the
15occasion of his thirtieth pastoral anniversary and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that
16he continue to prosper in all of his spiritual endeavors.
