HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 34

A RESOLUTION
To designate Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as Funeral Director Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association was founded in 1918 by
unlicensed undertakers with a shared vision to transform their trade into a respected
profession that is dedicated to improving service quality and meeting the needs of the public;
and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association promotes integrity in
funeral service through education, legislation, networking, and communications; the
association remains committed to the core principles that elevated it into a professional
organization, and its efforts today ensure that members have a strong voice in state and
national legislative matters and adhere to higher standards within the funeral profession; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association is fueled by the
participation of its members, who drive the association's growth and ensure its ongoing
success by contributing their time, talent, and ideas; the association is dedicated to
continuously improving and upholding the integrity of the funeral profession, and it remains
committed to exploring new ideas to advance its mission; and
WHEREAS, licensed funeral directors and embalmers are recognized as essential
personnel who maintain public safety, and they serve the citizens of Louisiana's sixty-four
parishes with dignity and respect twenty-four hours a day and three hundred sixty-five days
a year; they are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible service.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as Funeral Director
Day at the state capitol and does hereby commend the Louisiana Funeral Directors
Association for its outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to excellence in
serving the citizens of Louisiana.
