HLS 25RS-1370 ORIGINAL 2025 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 68 BY REPRESENTATIVE CARVER COMMENDATIONS: Commends Steve Masters, director of LSU Baptist Collegiate Ministry, on the occasion of his retirement 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend Steve Masters, director of LSU Baptist Collegiate Ministry, on the occasion 3 of his retirement. 4 WHEREAS, Steve Masters has served with excellence at the LSU Baptist Collegiate 5Ministry since August 1991; during his tenure, he has consistently contributed to collegiate 6ministry on the national level through his work as a consultant and contributor on many 7committees; and 8 WHEREAS, Steve has been a champion for Baptist Disaster Relief, which sends 9teams to help families in crisis after natural disasters, and his most recent achievement is the 10development of a strategic training website for students called to ministry; and 11 WHEREAS, prior to serving at LSU, Steve served as the Baptist Collegiate 12Ministries intern at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Baptist Collegiate 13Ministries director at Arkansas Tech University and Oklahoma State University; and 14 WHEREAS, Steve is married to Pam Masters, and they have three daughters, 15Michelle (Rob), Danielle (Matt), and Lindsay (Adam), and eight grandchildren; the entire 16Masters family has made a significant impact on the collegiate ministry community; and 17 WHEREAS, Steve will continue to serve as the Louisiana Baptist Collegiate Ministry 18state development director; in this role he will focus on alumni relations, international 19student outreach, and transitional success of high school seniors as they move into college 20life; and Page 1 of 2 HLS 25RS-1370 ORIGINAL HR NO. 68 1 WHEREAS, Steve Masters is a truly inspiring leader who is most deserving of the 2highest recognition for his dedicated service to the LSU Baptist Collegiate Ministry. 3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 4Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Steve Masters, director of LSU Baptist 5Collegiate Ministry, on the occasion of his retirement and does hereby extend sincerest 6wishes that he continue to prosper in all of his endeavors as he begins a new role with the 7Louisiana Baptist Collegiate Ministry.
