Present law provides for qualifications of members of the La. State Board of Optometry Examiners.
Present law prohibits any member of the board from holding an elected or appointed position in an
optometry professional association during the member's term of appointment to the board.
Proposed law limits the prohibition to an optometry professional association that is domiciled in La.
Effective August 1, 2025.
