ROADS/HIGHWAYS. Designates a portion of US Route 61 in East Baton Rouge Parish as
the "Jackson, Gerald, Garafola, Tullier Memorial Highway". (8/1/25)
1 AN ACT
2 To provide relative to state highways; to designate a portion of US Route 61 in East Baton
3 Rouge Parish as the "Jackson, Gerald, Garafola, Tullier Memorial Highway"; to
4 provide for restrictions on costs of materials to the department; and to provide for
5 related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the
8 portion of Airline Highway, beginning in front of the property located at 9607 Airline
9 Highway and ending in front of the property located at 9000 Airline Highway, all of
10 which is located in East Baton Rouge Parish, is hereby designated as the "Jackson,
11 Gerald, Garafola, Tullier Memorial Highway".
12 Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby
13 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs of this designation provided local or
14 private monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual costs
15 for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to exceed
16 the sum of five hundred fifty dollars per sign.
