SPECIAL DISTRICTS. Provides for the French Quarter Management District. (8/1/25)
1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 25:799(C)(1)(b), (c), (d), (e), (j), (k), and (l), relative to the
3 French Quarter Management District; to provide relative to the board of
4 commissioners; to make technical changes; and to provide for related matters.
5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 25:799(C)(1)(b), (c), (d), (e), (j), (k), and (l) are hereby amended and
8 reenacted to read as follows:
9 ยง799. Creation of the French Quarter Management District

11 C. Governance. (1) The district shall be governed by a board of
12 commissioners consisting of thirteen members as follows:

14 (b) One person who is domiciled and a qualified elector in the district,
15 appointed by the Vieux Carre Property Owners, Residents and Associates, Inc
16 Incorporated.
17 (c) One person who either owns one or more restaurants in the district or is

1 a corporate representative of a company owning and operating one or more
2 restaurants in the district, appointed by the Louisiana Restaurant Association, Inc
3 Incorporated.
4 (d) One person who is either employed full-time, or owns or operates a hotel,
5 in the district between the center line of Canal Street and the middle of Iberville
6 Street, appointed by the Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association, Inc
7 Incorporated.
8 (e) One person who is either employed full-time, or owns or operates a hotel,
9 in the Vieux Carre or Faubourg Marigny sections of the district, appointed by the
10 Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association, Inc Incorporated.

12 (j) One person who is domiciled and a qualified elector in the district,
13 appointed by the French Quarter Citizens, Inc Incorporated.
14 (k) One person who is domiciled and a qualified elector in the district,
15 appointed by North Rampart Main Street, Inc Incorporated.
16 (l) One person who is employed full-time or owns or operates a business, in
17 the district, appointed by the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors
18 Bureau, Inc Incorporated.
