SB 216 Original 2025 Regular Session Hodges
Proposed law requires DOTD, beginning July 1, 2025, to use the A+B bidding method or other best
practices in all road construction contracts to reduce the completion time. Requires that contracts
contain necessary provisions to discourage contractors from delaying the road construction
completion date, including delays caused by excessive change orders. Provides for incentives that
reward contractors for projects completed prior to the contracted date of completion.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
