[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] DIGEST SB 23 Original 2025 Regular Session Lambert Present law requires wholesale and retail seafood dealers acquiring fish from commercial fisherman to complete a receipt recording certain information related to the transaction and to provide the receipt to the fisherman at the time of the transaction. Proposed law retains present law and requires that the receipt be transmitted to the fisherman within 24 hours of the transaction. Present law provides that the dealer is responsible for information recorded on receipt, including dealer's name and license number, fisherman's name, license number and signature, transaction date, species, quantity and units of each species, size and condition of each species, unit price of each species, and permit number if required, at the time of the transaction. Proposed law retains present law and provides that the dealer is responsible for the recorded information with 24 hours of the transaction. Effective August 1, 2025. (Amends R.S. 56:306.5(B))
