Present law provides for 18 members of the commission to be appointed by the governor.
Proposed law changes members to commissioners.
Present law provides for the commission to appoint a qualified person to serve as executive director.
Present law further provides for the commission to have the powers and duties necessary to
effectively carry out the objectives of the commission.
Proposed law retains present law and provides for technical changes.
Effective August 1, 2025.
