[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] DIGEST SB 48 Original 2025 Regular Session Talbot Proposed law requires authorized insurers providing personal or commercial residential coverage to file a supplemental report monthly with the Department of Insurance providing information on an individual and group basis on personal and commercial residential policies. Proposed law requires authorized insurers providing personal or commercial residential coverage to include premiums totals for each of the property lines of business. Proposed law requires the submitted information be broken down for each zip code in the state. Proposed law requires authorized insurers providing personal or commercial residential coverage to annually file a supplemental report, in conjunction with their annual statements, for closed claims on an individual and group basis. Proposed law requires authorized insurers providing personal or commercial residential coverage to report annually on a calendar year basis for each line of business information on premiums and loss reserves. Proposed law provides that the information submitted is confidential and exempt from the Public Records Law, and not subject to public examination or subpoena. Proposed law requires the commissioner to promulgate rules and regulations and the required forms no later than 30 days after the effective date of proposed law. Effective January 1, 2026.
