SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 10

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson, also know as "Mack", on being
selected as the 2024-2025 "Student of the Year", as a graduating senior, at Maurepas
High School in Livingston Parish.
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
that signifies success in academics and the achievement of one's goals; and
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is also one of the most important indicators
of future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall
health; and
WHEREAS, Mack is set to graduate from Maurepas High School in May 2025, and
it is appropriate to recognize her for all of her accomplishments throughout her high school
career; and
WHEREAS, beyond her academic achievements, Mack has been a leader in both her
school and community; and
WHEREAS, during her time at Maurepas High School, Mack served as president of
the Beta and 4-H Clubs and is part of the Livingston Parish Talented Theatre and Talented
Music programs; and
WHEREAS, she has also been a member of the Maurepas High School's Cooking
Club, FCS, and the Chess Club and served as manager of the track team; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her extracurricular activities, and her duties at Maurepas
High School, Mack has worked diligently to prepare herself for college and plans to attend
Southeastern Louisiana University where she will study nursing and aspires to be a nurse
practitioner; and
WHEREAS, Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson exemplifies the very best of students in
the Class of 2025 and her future holds incredible promise; and

WHEREAS, through her academic achievements and her community involvement,
Mack has formed a solid foundation upon which her future successes can be built, and it is
only fitting to acknowledge the accomplishment of Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson upon being
selected "Student of the Year" at Maurepas High School in Livingston Parish.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson on being selected the
2024-2025 "Student of the Year" at Maurepas High School in Livingston Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Mackenzie Elizabeth Hutson.
