SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 6

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Grant Randall Pendergraft on being selected "Student of
the Year" at Denham Springs High School in Livingston Parish.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and congratulate Grant Randall Pendergraft on being selected the 2024-2025
3 "Student of the Year", as a graduating senior, at Denham Springs High School in
4 Livingston Parish.
5 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
6 that signifies success in academics and the achievement of one's goals; and
7 WHEREAS, graduating from high school is also one of the most important indicators
8 of future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall
9 health; and
10 WHEREAS, Grant Randall Pendergraft is set to graduate with the prestigious title
11 of AP Scholar with Distinction and an ACT composite score of 34 from Denham Springs
12 High School in May 2025, and it is appropriate to recognize him for all of his
13 accomplishments throughout his high school career; and
14 WHEREAS, beyond his academic achievements, Grant has been a leader in both his
15 school and community; and
16 WHEREAS, during his time at Denham Springs High School, Grant has logged more
17 than fifteen hundred hours of community service and served as treasurer and president of the
18 Mu Alpha Theta Club, president of the EBR EMS Explorer Post, and secretary of the Junior

1 National Honor Society; and
2 WHEREAS, he has also been the captain of the of the varsity bowling team and was
3 named 2024 MVP of the state championship; and
4 WHEREAS, in addition to his extracurricular activities and his duties at Denham
5 Springs High School, Grant has worked diligently to prepare himself for college and plans
6 to attend Tulane University in New Orleans where he will study biomedical engineering; and
7 WHEREAS, Grant Randall Pendergraft exemplifies the very best of students in the
8 Class of 2025 and his future holds incredible promise; and
9 WHEREAS, through his academic achievements and his community involvement,
10 Grant has formed a solid foundation upon which his future successes can be built, and it is
11 only fitting to acknowledge the accomplishment of Grant Randall Pendergraft upon being
12 selected "Student of the Year" at Denham Springs High School in Livingston Parish.
13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
14 does hereby commend and congratulate Grant Randall Pendergraft on being selected the
15 2024-2025 "Student of the Year" at Denham Springs High School in Livingston Parish.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Grant
17 Randall Pendergraft.
