SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 6

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Grant Randall Pendergraft on being selected the 2024-2025
"Student of the Year", as a graduating senior, at Denham Springs High School in
Livingston Parish.
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
that signifies success in academics and the achievement of one's goals; and
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is also one of the most important indicators
of future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall
health; and
WHEREAS, Grant Randall Pendergraft is set to graduate with the prestigious title
of AP Scholar with Distinction and an ACT composite score of 34 from Denham Springs
High School in May 2025, and it is appropriate to recognize him for all of his
accomplishments throughout his high school career; and
WHEREAS, beyond his academic achievements, Grant has been a leader in both his
school and community; and
WHEREAS, during his time at Denham Springs High School, Grant has logged more
than fifteen hundred hours of community service and served as treasurer and president of the
Mu Alpha Theta Club, president of the EBR EMS Explorer Post, and secretary of the Junior
National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, he has also been the captain of the of the varsity bowling team and was
named 2024 MVP of the state championship; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his extracurricular activities and his duties at Denham
Springs High School, Grant has worked diligently to prepare himself for college and plans
to attend Tulane University in New Orleans where he will study biomedical engineering; and
WHEREAS, Grant Randall Pendergraft exemplifies the very best of students in the
Class of 2025 and his future holds incredible promise; and

WHEREAS, through his academic achievements and his community involvement,
Grant has formed a solid foundation upon which his future successes can be built, and it is
only fitting to acknowledge the accomplishment of Grant Randall Pendergraft upon being
selected "Student of the Year" at Denham Springs High School in Livingston Parish.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Grant Randall Pendergraft on being selected the
2024-2025 "Student of the Year" at Denham Springs High School in Livingston Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Grant
Randall Pendergraft.
