A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION calling for the expediting of research regarding the safety and efficacy of the use of marijuana for medical purposes.
Urges and requests state entities that have a role in the implementation of Act No. 96 of the 2016 Regular Session relative to patient access to therapeutic marijuana to prioritize fully implementing the law as soon as possible

Authorizes certain universities to conduct research and testing of state-regulated industrial hemp, CBD, and medical marijuana products (OR INCREASE GF EX See Note)
Urging the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board to encourage and facilitate State System of Higher Education universities to secure United States Drug Enforcement Administration registrations to authorize the possession of cannabis for clinical registrants to engage in hands-on work regarding cultivating, testing, processing and researching cannabis plants.
Requests the Senate Select Committee on Women and Children to conduct research to ascertain the efficacy of the program available and funds allocated to meet the needs of the children of the state.
