Requires the state education department to develop a model mental health training program to serve as the mental health component of required school safety trainings as part of comprehensive district-wide safety plans developed by each district-wide school safety team.
Requires the education department, in consultation with the department of health, to develop and adopt a comprehensive fentanyl education, awareness, and recognition program for all public, charter, and private schools in the state.
Directs the office of mental health to establish programs for the training and development of persons capable of providing coaching and support to individuals under treatment plans developed by licensed mental health practitioners, including but not limited to a process of issuing, either directly or through contract, credentials for qualified mental health associates.
Establishes a master of social work paid field work pilot program to provide a stipend to students who are enrolled in a master of social work program for the first 450 hours of field work completed towards such masters' degree; requires the office of mental health to complete a report making recommendations on how to expand the pilot program to increase the number of social workers in the state, improve representation in the field of social work, mitigate student debt and improve labor conditions for social workers upon graduation.
Creates a computer science course requirement for graduation from high school; directs the department of education to design and implement such program.
Relates to the creation of an innovative housing initiative for persons with a developmental disability who wish and are able to safely reside in such a setting; directs the division of housing and community renewal to establish guidelines for the dissemination of disclosure materials for the offer and sale of interests in residential environments formed under the innovative housing initiative; creates an exemption from certain filing requirements for residential environments that are formed as cooperative interests in realty for persons receiving services under the innovative housing initiative.
Enacts the safe subways act creating a subway safety command force responsible for coordinating public safety, homelessness intervention services, the orderly flow of riders in and out of the subway system, compliance with fare collection, and the cosmetic appearance of subway trains and stations.
