The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act to prevent unwanted opioid prescriptions. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Subsection (e) of section 18B of chapter 94C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 22020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following 2 sentences:- 3 A practitioner who knowingly fails to comply with a person’s voluntary non-opiate 4directive form shall be subject to a civil penalty of not more than $100,000. The attorney general 5may enforce the provisions of this subsection.
