An Act relative to reimbursement of training expenses for peace officers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary and unless otherwise provided 
2in an employment contract, if any city, town or political subdivision of the commonwealth 
3employs a peace officer and said peace officer is hired by another city, town or political 
4subdivision of the commonwealth within 12 months after completing mandated or formalized 
5training requirements, then the total expense of training, including salary paid during training, 
6shall be reimbursed by the hiring city, town, or political subdivision of the commonwealth to the 
7city, town, or political subdivision of the commonwealth which provided for said peace officer's 
8training. 
9 In order to receive reimbursement, a city, town, or political subdivision of the 
10commonwealth must provide documentation that the peace officer in question signed an 
11acknowledgment of terms or an employment contract specifying the provisions set forth herein.
