The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act directing the Bristol County Retirement Board to grant creditable service to Michael Cioper. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, the Bristol 2County Retirement Board shall credit Michael Cioper, a member of the Bristol County 3Retirement System, with creditable service for the period April 3, 1989 to May 1, 2004, 4inclusive, for the purpose of determining his superannuation retirement allowance pursuant to 5paragraph (a) of subdivision (2) of section 5 of chapter 32 of the General Laws. Before the date 6that any retirement allowance becomes effective in the case of Michael Cioper, he shall pay into 7the annuity savings fund of the retirement system of the county in one (1) sum or installments, 8upon such terms and conditions as the board may prescribe, an amount equal to that which would 9have been withheld as regular deductions from his regular compensation for such previous 10service, plus buyback interest.
