An Act to ensure timely restitution payments to victims of crime.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. When a defendant is released from custody or probation and a restitution 
2order has not been paid in full to a victim or family member as defined in section 1 of chapter 
3258B, the department of revenue shall collect the unpaid amount by withholding the wages of the 
4offender.
5 The department of revenue shall establish a division of restitution enforcement which 
6shall be provided, subject to appropriation, with such 	resources as may be necessary to 
7implement the provisions of this section. The commissioner may promulgate regulations for the 
8effective administration of the restitution enforcement program.
