An Act relative to removing the driving restrictions on a car with antique tags.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 
2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the definition “Antique motor car” and 
3inserting in place thereof the following definition:-
4 “Antique motor car”, any motor vehicle that is over 25 years old and not used by the 
5owner primarily for general transportation purposes. The application for registration shall be 
6accompanied by an affidavit upon a form provided by the registrar, which shall include:
7 (i) a statement by the owner that the antique motor vehicle is owned and operated solely 
8as an antique item and not primarily for general transportation purposes; and
9 (ii) registration of another motor vehicle, in the owner’s name that is currently used by 
10the owner for daily transportation purposes. 2 of 2
11 SECTION 2. Section 33 of said chapter 90, as so appearing, is hereby amended by 
12striking out the (13) paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:- For the 
13registration of every antique motor car; provided that said fee shall be collected every 2 years.
