whom was referred the petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 181) of 
Patricia D. Jehlen for legislation relative to the types of identification 
allowed to purchase alcohol and the petition (accompanied by bill, House, 
No. 369) of Paul McMurtry relative to the identification required for the 
purchase of alcoholic beverages, reports recommending that the 
accompanying bill (House, No. 4131) ought to pass.

An Act relative to acceptance of certain types of identification to purchase alcohol in 
Massachusetts.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 34B of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 
2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words "foreign country," in line 19, the 
3following new text:- a valid license to operate a motor vehicle issued by another state, or a 
4Global Entry card issued by the United States Customs and Border Protection office,
5 SECTION 2. Said section 34B of said chapter 138, as so appearing, is hereby further 
6amended by striking out, in lines 25 through 27, inclusive, the words “a liquor purchase 
7identification card, or an identification card issued under section 8E of chapter 90, or motor 
8vehicle license issued pursuant to said section eight”, and inserting in place thereof the 
9following:- identification permitted by this section
