No. 4463 The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act relative to certain retirement benefits for the surviving spouse of a state police officer injured in the line of duty. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia 2O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is 3currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated 4surviving spouse retirement allowance. The recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance 5shall be equal to that which she would have received had John Bernard O’Connor been allowed 6to elect the Option C retirement allowance prior to his death. 7 SECTION 2. The amount of the recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance in 8section 1 shall apply retroactively to the date of death of John Bernard O’Connor.
