school students to pass a civics test for prior to graduation, reports 
recommending that the accompanying order (House, No. 4587) ought to 
be adopted [Representative Pease of Westfield dissents].

1 Ordered, That the committee on Education be authorized to sit during a recess of the 
2General Court to make an investigation and study of House documents numbered 445, 455, 461, 
3462, 463, 464, 487, 509, 520, 543, 581, 587, 599 and 607, relative to curriculum and instruction.
4 Said committee shall report to the General Court the results of its investigation and study 
5and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such 
6recommendations into effect, by filing the same with the Clerk of the House of Representatives 
7on or before December 31, 2024.
