[Local Approval Received.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act authorizing Javier Vargas to take the civil service examination for the position of firefighter in the city of Haverhill notwithstanding the maximum age requirement. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law or rule or regulation to the 2contrary regulating the maximum age of applicants for appointment as firefighter, Javier Vargas 3of the City of Haverhill, shall be eligible for appointment to the position of firefighter in the City 4if he meets all other requirements, in which case he shall be eligible for certification and 5appointment to the fire department of the City of Haverhill. 6 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
