An Act to ensure access to medical cannabis for visiting qualifying patients.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 2 of Chapter 369 of the Acts of 2012 is hereby amended by adding
2the following definition:-
3 “Visiting qualifying patient”, a person who resides in another jurisdiction within the
4United States that authorizes the medical use of marijuana who possesses a valid medical
5marijuana certification from that other jurisdiction and photographic identification or a driver's
6license from that jurisdiction.
7 SECTION 2. Chapter 369 of the Acts of 2012 is hereby amended by inserting, after
8section 17, the following section:-
9 Section 18. Visiting qualifying patients 2 of 2
10 A visiting qualifying patient as defined in section 2 shall be afforded all the rights and
11protections granted to a qualifying patient under this act, provided, however, that section 11 of
12this act shall never apply to a visiting qualifying patient.
