An Act to establish a COVID-19 Remembrance Day.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Chapter 6 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is
2hereby amended by inserting, after section MMMMMM, the following new section:-
3 Section NNNNNN. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart
4March 10 as COVID-19 Remembrance Day to honor all who died or were stricken and their
5families from COVID-19 and subsequent variants especially older adults and people with
6disabilities, to appreciate those first responders, caregivers, and researchers who cared for
7victims or developed treatments or vaccines in response to the virus, and to evaluate public
8health preparedness and response to long-term conditions from the virus, and shall recommend
9that the day be observed in an appropriate manner by the people.
