Peake (by vote of the town) for legislation relative to the expansion of the residential tax exemption in the town of Provincetown. Revenue. [Local Approval Received.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act relative to the expansion of the residential tax exemption in the town of Provincetown. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 25 of the acts of 2018 is hereby amended by striking 2out the words “or (ii)” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- (ii) not more than 4 3units of a residential multi-unit parcel occupied by either the taxpayer of the property and used as 4their principal residence for income tax purposes or a resident of the town of Provincetown, who 5occupies the unit on a year-round rental basis and is used as their principal residence for income 6tax purposes; or (iii). 7 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
