No. 2843 By Ms. Moran, a petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 2843) of Susan L. Moran (by vote of the town) to authorize the town of Pembroke to issue one additional liquor license. Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure. [Local Approval Received.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act authorizing the town of Pembroke to issue one additional liquor license. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Notwithstanding section 17 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws or any other general or 2special rule or regulation to the contrary, the licensing authority of the Town of Pembroke may 3grant one (1) additional license for the retail of alcohol beverages under section 15 of said 4Chapter 138 to be exercised at and located at 295 Old Oak Street (Parcel ID: G15-36). A license 5granted under this section shall be subjected to all of said Chapter 138 except said section 17. 6 Once issued, the licensing authority shall not approve the transfer of the license issued 7under subsection (a) to any other locations, but it may grant the license to a new applicant at the 8same location if the applicant files with the authority a letter from the Department of Revenue 9and a letter from the Department of Unemployment Assistance indicating the license is in good 10standing with those departments and that all applicable taxes, fees, and contributions have been 11paid. 2 of 2 12 If the license granted under this section is cancelled, revoked, or no longer in use, it shall 13be returned physically, with all of the legal rights, privileges, and restrictions pertaining thereto, 14to the licensing authority, which may then grant the license to a new applicant at the same or 15different location.
