By Representative Higgins of Leominster, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 1438) of 
Natalie M. Higgins, Lindsay N. Sabadosa and James B. Eldridge that the student loan 
ombudsman establish a live annual training program for all state employees regarding eligibility 
for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program through the U.S. Department of Education.

An Act increasing awareness of public student loan forgiveness.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 35 of Chapter 12 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following 
2in subsection (b):- 
3 The student loan ombudsman in coordination with the human services division within the 
4executive office for administration and finance shall assist in establishing a live annual training 
5program for all state employees regarding their eligibility for the Public Service Loan 
6Forgiveness Program through the U.S. Department of Education. An online training module shall 
7be provided during all new state employee onboarding.
