An Act relating to background checks for kinship foster care.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 32 of Chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, 
2is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph:- the department shall 
3screen potential grandparent care givers with a twenty year maximum look back on the potential 
4guardian’s record. This is applicable to any minor infraction that has not been repeated since the 
5first infraction. Instances of felonies, violence, and sexual offenses, no matter when it occurred, 
6will not be removed from the look back.
