An Act relative to food labeling.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary the Department of Public 
2Health shall implement a food labeling program for commercially caught, landed and sold 
3saltwater fish including but not limited to tuna, mackerel, swordfish, grouper, striped bass and 
4bluefish. The label shall provide the consumer with information concerning the safety and the 
5risk factors of consumption of the fish based on toxin levels in the fish and their hazards to 
6human health, in particular the health of young children, women of child-bearing age and 
7pregnant women.
