No. 3912 By Representative Armini of Marblehead and Senator Crighton, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3912) of Jennifer Balinsky Armini and Brendan P. Crighton (by vote of the town) that the town of Marblehead be authorized to increase the membership of the board of health in said town from three members to five. Municipalities and Regional Government. [Local Approval Received.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act increasing the membership of the board of health of the town of Marblehead from three members to five. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the number of 2members of the board of health of the town of Marblehead shall be increased from 3 members to 35 members, with the select board annually electing a chairperson from among its members. 4 SECTION 2. At the first annual town election to occur following the effective date of this 5act, 3 board of health members shall be elected. The candidate receiving the highest number of 6votes in that election shall serve a 3-year term. The candidate receiving the second highest 7number of votes shall serve a 2-year term. The candidate receiving the third highest number of 8votes shall serve a 1-year term. Thereafter, as the terms of the board members expire, successors 9shall be elected for terms of 3 years. 10 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
