in the city of Boston.  Election Laws. [Local Approval Received.]

An Act relative to the office of district councilor in the city of Boston.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1.    Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, if a vacancy 
2in an office of district councilor in the city of Boston occurs at any time in the year two thousand 
3and twenty-five, the vacancy shall not be filled by a special municipal election and shall instead 
4be filled by the person elected to the office of district 	city councillor for said district at the 
5regular municipal election to be held on November 4, 2025. 
6 Such person shall take and subscribe the oaths required by Acts of 1951, c. 376, s. 1.11A, 
7as amended, as soon as conveniently may be after the issuance of the certificate of election and 
8shall hold office from the time of taking and subscribing such oaths until the expiration of their 
9elected term. 
10 SECTION 2.    The provisions of this act are severable and if any provision, or portion 
11thereof, should be held to be unconstitutional or otherwise invalid by any court of competent  2 of 2
12jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions, 
13which remain in full force and effect.
14 SECTION 3.    This act shall take effect upon its passage.
