AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Human Services – CASH Campaign – Annual Appropriation 2 
 
FOR the purpose of increasing the amount of a certain appropriation, beginning in a certain 3 
fiscal year, that the Governor is required to provide in the annual budget bill for the 4 
CASH Campaign of Maryland; and generally relating to the CASH Campaign of 5 
Maryland. 6 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, 7 
 Article – Human Services 8 
Section 6–801 9 
 Annotated Code of Maryland 10 
 (2019 Replacement Volume and 2021 Supplement) 11 
 
 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 13 
 
Article – Human Services 14 
 
6–801. 15 
 
 (A) For [each] fiscal [year] YEARS 2021 THROUGH 2023, the Governor shall 16 
include in the annual State budget an appropriation of $200,000 for the CASH Campaign 17 
of Maryland to promote the financial capability of low–income individuals and families by 18 
providing outreach, education, and free tax preparation services. 19

 (B) FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024 AND EACH FISCAL YEAR THEREAFTER , THE 1 
GOVERNOR SHALL INCLUD E IN THE ANNUAL BUDG ET BILL AN APPROPRIA TION OF 2 
$500,000 FOR THE CASH CAMPAIGN. 3 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 4 
1, 2022. 5
